The Queen of Swords

Today's Card: Queen of Swords

This queen sits strong upon her throne, wielding a very sharp blade. Beware the double-edged sword in this card. This queen has a dogged determination to meet her goals and have what she wants. The positive to this is that she has great energy and she devotes herself completely, not giving up. The downside is sometimes she fights so hard to get what she wants, only to later discover it was not in her best interests at all. After all was said and done this Queen wasted a lot of energy that could have been put to a more beneficial use.

Perhaps she should be more willing to flow with circumstances, allowing her higher wisdom to lead. This card reminds us that when something doesn't feel right, no matter how much we feel we want it, it's better to "let go and let God" freeing us to direct that energy into constructive channels.

Use the determination and strength of will represented in this card to work for the higher good. Queens always represent a dynamic spiritual force that allows us to really accomplish things we may not have thought possible. Push your limits today while working on things that benefit everyone's greater good. Not a time to purely focus on self-interest, bigger thing are at stake.

This Queen is also a card of leadership/empowerment. Work to cut away all that holds you back or is not good for you.

The Seven of Cups

Today's Tarot - The Seven of Cups

The Seven of Cups talks about having to make decisions and pin things down. It indicates you are in a period of confusion or self doubt. Searching for the truth ..... too many options.

It also indicates having pie in the sky hopes.. Could it be that what you are wishing for is a bit unrealistic? Or perhaps you just aren't doing anything to get yourself there, hence the dreams remaining in the sky. Possibly in a period of difficulty and unexpected events presenting too many options to choose from.

The Seven of Cups always challenges us to keep reaching for our dreams, and rather than sit around wishing or hoping, narrow things down and then take action on one of your goals. Those who work on their goals routinely tend to be the "luckiest". Time to stop procrastinating. If you find you are a procrastinator at the moment it is time to analyze the situation a little further. Why aren't we taking action? Narrow things down, decide on a goal and work towards achieving it.  Work a little each day towards your long-term goals to stay on track.

When we aren't doing what we truly want to do, when there is not enough fire behind the dream to keep us moving, we are chasing the wrong dreams. Begin to really think about what makes you happy, aside from the material things like money, etc.. what inside fires you up? Pursue this path at least a little bit as often as you can. That way you always have a dream you are working towards, and you are always alive with hope and enthusiasm.

Focus on the positives in your life, direct that positive light on the darkness. Don't fixate on pie in the sky illusions. Now is a good time for a reality check.

Today's Tarot - The Ace of Cups

Today's Tarot - The Ace of Cups

Today's card is a symbol of great joy and abundant creative energy. In this card we see the flow of water from heaven into the cup as it spills over. The message is one of Divine inspiration, spiritual fortitude, creative energy all flowing in abundance into your life today should you choose to look for them.

Although you are able to recognize the blessings in your life, at this time you may feel something is still missing or you are feeling that you are not using your fullest potential. The Ace of Cups also challenges us to let go of the struggle and allow the Higher Power to lead.  When we release our need to be in control we open our energy up to allow the Divine to intervene. Thoughts of worry or want lead to feelings of lack and can draw more to you. Worry is like praying for something you do NOT want.

Today is a good day to say "thank you" for all the blessings you have received thereby opening the door for more to flow in. Get inspired today! Be creative in all your ventures, and be willing to try something new. Today is a day of happy surprises and discovery as things will flow well.

This card is also a reminder that it is better to not struggle with "what should I do?" and rather just go with the flow and allow Spirit to lead in times of doubt or confusion. Aces always stand for new beginnings and cups represent emotion. Sometimes these new emotional beginnings can be difficult, even painful. Rely on your inner strength to help you through to see clear to watch the new beginning unfold.

My first Blog Post - The Sun

Welcome to Windows of Wisdom!

How appropriate to pull this card as my first blog post. This Sun Card is exactly how I feel as I start on my new endeavor. The meaning of The Sun card indicates illumination, newness, and the effects of personal power. What we believe we create! Do you like what you’ve been creating lately? Sometimes the key to liberation is to take a risk and follow the path of this young child, riding naked into the sunlight. There are no issues like fear, shame, guilt etc., holding him/her back from taking the journey. The Sun represents faith and illumination of all the possibilities. The only prisons that exist are the prisons of our own mind.

You need to feel validated and appreciated for who you are and what you want to accomplish. Seeking to unite your career with your “higher calling” also falls under this card’s influence.

Today is a day to understand the need to look beyond surface appearances. You are at the dawn of a new day, a journey in self-discovery. You must first face yourself completely and know yourself as you truly are not as you think you should be. This is the key-the first step of finding what will fill the void in your life. Happiness is a choice, not a destination. What can fulfill you lies within your own soul, not over some distant horizon. You can choose liberation and empowerment right now, at this very moment.

Enjoy the day! Don’t forget to dream and feel the Sun’s warmth in your soul brightening the way!
